Kelli D. McLeod

 

Kelli is the Artistic Director of Barre None Dance Studio. She is also the Head of Dance at Shawnigan Lake School

Anastasia Glerup

 

 
 Anastasia has been dancing Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz and Lyrical since the age of five. She has accomplished  Primary through Advanced 2 of the Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams and is now taking the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies 2 year program. She is certified in Progressive Ballet Technique. Over the years, Anastasia has competed in many international competitions as well as the Youth America Grand Prix, and has traveled to train at the Bolshoi Summer Intensive in Moscow, Russia, Tivoli Ballet in Copenhagen, Joffrey in New York and the summer intensive Teacher Training Course at the Vaganova Academy in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Anastasia has had private voice lessons for 10 years and competed in many music theatre competitions and was a finalist in the ‘Canada’s Got Talent” competition performing musical theatre. She is passionate about teaching and choreography and sharing her experiences with young dancers.

Trista Knight

 

Trista started dancing at the age of 3 and hasn’t stopped since.  Originally from the mainland growing up in Maple Ridge

Trista trained at Peggy Peats School of Dance and Fabulous Feet School of Dance in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, modern,

contemporary, musical theatre and hip hop.  Once she graduated Trista started teaching at Fabulous Feet, she realized at

this time yes it would be nice to be a dancer but knew it was her calling to teach. Trista was fortunate to be a part of the

closing ceremonies for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and is so grateful to have been a part of something that comes

once in a lifetime.  For 5 years Trista worked for a Canadian dance competition touring around western Canada with Dance

Power.  Being introduced to so many amazing people in the Alberta and B.C. dance world built her connections and lifelong friendships she is forever thankful

for. 

Jeremy Miton

 

BC born and bred, there has never been a time when Jeremy wasn’t dancing. Studying all forms of dance, his training led him all over the world. On top of competing across Canada, the US and Europe, Jeremy was part of the original touring company, Tap Co. with the Vancouver Tap Society. After returning from the World Championships in Germany, he started his professional career with Occidental Resorts. Over the last 10 years, he spanned the globe aboard the ships of Carnival Cruise Lines. He was given the promotion to Dance Captain, allowing him to oversee all the shows on board. In addition to performances for the 2010 Winter Olympics, his choreography can be seen in Mexico, as part of a Goodwill tour to Cuba for the Canadian Ambassador, All That Jazz with the Naden band and Canadian College of Performing Arts, and a half hour show entitled “Icons” for the Disneyland Musical Theatre program, which he created together with his wife Tiffany. Now based in Victoria, they continue to perform as an adage couple whenever possible, most recently for the Victoria Union Club and a commercial for Big-O Tires.

Shania Schmidt

 

Shania is an energetic instructor, who loves sharing her passion for dance. When she started dancing with Barre None in high school, she quickly discovered this was her place to flourish. She immersed herself in every types of dance; Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, and  Hip Hop. Shania is very excited to continue her journey with the Barre None family and to teach others how valuable dance can be in ones life!

Brydie Thomas

 

Brydie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of Calgary. Brydie grew up dancing at Barre None and is

 

eager to pass on all that she learned from her time there. She was involved in different dance aspects during her time at the

 

U of C, including performing in cabaret style shows. Most recently she was part of a devised dance piece as a part of Jane’s

 

Walk through Theatre Junction Grand in Calgary. Brydie is excited to return home to Barre None.
